Jarvis Henderson

COMMUNITY TUBMAN GUIDE

Jarvis Henderson is a passionate community leader and empowerment specialist from Bremerton, Washington, just outside of Seattle. Raised in an inner-city environment, Jarvis has overcome many obstacles to reach the heights of success, all while maintaining a strong commitment to making a difference in others' lives. His journey has led him from the streets of his hometown to university halls and corporate boardrooms, shaping him into a well-rounded individual capable of inspiring change across cultures.

A proud alumnus of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL, Jarvis studied sociology and adopted a “learn it all” approach to life. This mindset has guided him throughout his career, allowing him to connect with and build others—from youth and college students to professionals in leadership and organizational development.

Jarvis’ professional experience spans various roles, including speaker, author, coach, minister, youth advocate, and businessman. His passion for service and connection has led him to his current position as a Community Guide with Tubman, where he combines his personal and professional experiences to serve and uplift his community.

Jarvis’ mission is clear: to Love God, Love People, and Love Life, while continually inspiring others to positively impact the lives of those around them.

  • Known on the streets for: Being a positive light and making an impact. Hence the nick name "Mr. Impact" lol.
  • When not at work: I'm either with  my grandparents or somewhere trying to relax.
  • I identify as: A lover of life, God, and people. It's just how my heart is built.
  • I dedicate my time at the Tubman Center for Health and Freedom to: The memory of my beautiful mother Tina Marie Roberts-McGilberry, a woman who left a legacy of love.
